We are planning a trip in Aug with a 6 month old...i need all the info I can possibly get!

Answer
If a child is under 2 and does not have his or her own seat, then you do not have to pay extra. that means that the child will have to sit on your lap the entire trip, so if it is a long trip, it could be uncomfortable.

If you want the child to have his or her own seat the airline will usually offer a discounted rate for the seat. The discount is usually between 15 and 50%. Since flights have been booked at over 90% for summer, this discount may not be available during summer.

Finally, if you are taking a long flight on a twin aisle plane, you can request a basinet. This is for children under 25 lbs. and needs to be requested when you reserve your tickets. The only seats that have this option are just behind the bulkheads that seperate different sections of the plane. The basinet is free and it is big enough to allow the child to move around and have some toys in there. My wife and I had a14 hour flight with our daughter and the basinet was great. She was bale to sleep and we did not have to hold her the entire time nor did we have to pay for a third ticket.

I am getting a new kitten. What are all of the things I need to know?

Kit

Here are all of the details:

He's from a shelter where I live
He is a he
He will be anywhere from 1 day old to 10 weeks old

Tell me all the things that I need to know. What to buy, how to care for him.
I know how to care for a cat. I just need to know if I'm forgetting something.

Answer
Just cover the basics.
a list of things you need:
food bowels
cat scratch pole
toys (mouse, ball etc)
Kitty litter tray
Kitty litter crystals
poop scooper
collar (If you wish)
pet condo/ bed

things you will need if your going to pick up your kitten:
travel cage/ a sterdy box or something similar
paper towel (for accidents)
treats

things that you may like to know:
your kitten may be very attached to you when you first bring him home because its a new place, one he has never been to before so it will take a few days for him to adjust to the change. He may find it VERY comforting if you give him extra love in this time and feel safe around you.

Kittens DO teeth like humans, they will loose their teeth and grow new ones. this first occurs from around 10- 15 weeks old and may re- occur anytime after that until they have lost and teethed all their teeth. During this time, they can be in pain and may show extra affection and dribble A lot. (my cats dribble all the time which a sign of affection as is totally normal but it gets very bad around teething)

Male cats if not desexed start "spraying" at 6-12 months old (spraying is basically them spraying their wee over everything they consider "theirs") it tends to smell a lot so I advise that you get your cat de sexed (if not already) at around 4-6 months old if not earlier :)

Thats about all I can think of for now but if you have any other questions just send me a msg :)
good luck !! â¥
